La Pincoya es un ser de aspecto femenino de hermosura incomparable. Cabellos largos y dorados, y un cuerpo de adolecnete hermosísimo. Viste un traje de hojas de zargazo y pelillo que le llega a los pies.
Cuando se acerca a alguna playa a bailar en la medianoche, los hombres que que han podido verla quedan atontados con su belleza.
En su danza frenética anuncia la escaces o abundancia de los peces y mariscos de las zonas costeras. Cuando su danza es de cara al mar, habrá una gran abundancia, pero si su baile es de espaldas al mar, significa una escasez de peces y mariscos en esa zona.
Su marido es el pincoy, que a la vez es su hermano y administra el territorio de su padre, el Millalobo, rey de los mares.
La pincoya es un ser de caracteristicas benévolas. Ayuda a los pescadores cuando estos han sozobrado en el mar, o bien, cuando han quedado varados en alguna playa. También castiga a los que han cometido algún mal a alguna persona, perjudicándoles su pesca. También ayudando a los que los necesita, dándoles abundancia.
The Pincoya
The Pincoya is a feminine being of stunning beauty. She has got long golden hair and a beautiful adolescent body. She often wears a long suit made of Zargazo and Pelillo
At midnight, she dances on the beach, if any man sees her he becomes stunned by her beauty.
With her frantic dance she announces shortage or abundance of fish and shellfish in the coastal areas. When she dances facing the sea, there will be great abundance of fish, whereas, if she gives her back to the sea, it means there will be shortage of fish and shellfish
Her husband is The Pincoy, who is also her brother and runs her father’s territory, The Millalobo, the king of the seas.
The Pincoya has got benevolent characteristics. She helps fishermen when they have been shipwrecked in the sea or when they have run aground at some beach. Besides, she punishes people who have made something evil, damaging their fishing activities. On the other hand, she helps people who are in need, providing them with abundance.
