Para determinadas misiones, los brujos se vales de diferentes criaturas, sobre todo aves, dotadas de algunas cualidades mágicas que las diferencias de los animales comunes y corrientes. Estos animales son como una especie de espías, que camuflado bajo su apariencia animal evitan que los brujos sean descubiertos durante sus operaciones.
Uno de estos servidores es el Coo, el cual es un ave ave de color parduzco, con ojos ojos grandes y redondos muy brillantes. Es muy parecido a una lechuza pequeña, por lo cual es muchas veces confundido con una de estas.
Durante las oscuras y lluviosas noches del sur, el Coo se dirige volando hasta alguna casa, se asoma por la ventana y observa al enfermo que yase postrado en una cama. A veces golpea con su alas los vidrios de las ventanas, llamando la atención de los familiares del enfermo, que llenos de miedo reconocen al animal y así se enteran de que la causa de la enfermedad del moribundo se debe a el actuar de algún brujo, y por lo tanto poco se pude hacer, salvo esperar resignadamente la muerte del desgraciado.
The Coo or Raiquén

One of these birds is The Coo or Raiquén, which is a brownish bird, with big bright round eyes. It is very similar to an owl, that is the reason why it is sometimes mistaken for the owl.
During dark and rainy nights in the South of Chile. The Coo flies towards some house and it leans out of the window and watches the sick person lying on his or her bed. It flutters its wings hitting the window with them, then it draws the attention from the relatives of the sick person who are scared of the animal and think that some Warlock or Witch caused the illness of the dying person, however , nothing can be done apart from waiting for the inevitable death.
